SICILY - THE WAY OF THE MARSALA WINE – 5 Days (Palermo, Monreale, Alcamo, Segesta, Erice, Marsala, Mozia)

1st day

Arrival at PALERMO/APT and transfer to Hotel in PALERMO area. Accomodation in hotel, dinner and overnight.

2nd day

After breakfast appointment with our guide for full day visit. In the morning visit of the old part of the Sicilian capital. Lunch in a typical restaurant of the area with a fish menu. In the afternoon further on to MONREALE through the inland way among wineyards and farms. Visit of the famous Cathedral, architectonic masterpiece dating back to the Norman domination. In the evening return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

3rd day

After breakfast in the hotel, departure for ALCAMO with a stop in a stock of vintage wines for a visit and wine tasting, further on to SEGESTA with its important Doric temple surrounded by wineyards, where refined qualities of wines such as the ‘Bianco d’Alcamo D.O.C.’ are produced. In the afternoon visit of the town centre of ERICE with its ruins dating back to the period of the Greek domination. Time available for the visit of the famous stock of vintage wines with tasting. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

4th day

After breakfast departure for MARSALA, old town of Arab origin but also considered the most Anglo-Saxon of the Sicily towns. Visit of a wine cellar where the most famous wine bearing the same name is produced. Lunch in a typical restaurant with a menu based on fish couscous for a taste of the local cooking. In the afternoon excursion to the ruins of Punic origin of MOZIA on the island in the lagoon of Stagnone. In the evening return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

5th day

After breakfast transfer to PALERMO/APT and end of our services.
